Since getting my new Blendtec, I make a smoothie for breakfast almost every day. I love that it can handle almost anything I toss in and turns it into a smooth drink in seconds. My kids are happy too — they’ve started asking for smoothies more often. Their favorite versions are the berry-packed ones. Maybe it’s the vibrant purple color, or maybe they just love the bright, fruity flavor.
This berry-chia smoothie is one of my go-to recipes for flavor, nutrition, and variety. It combines frozen fruit with fresh spinach and creamy coconut milk for a balanced texture. The addition of chia seeds boosts the antioxidant and fiber content, making this smoothie both filling and energizing — a great way to start the day.
Berrilicious Smoothie
Serves 3
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen berries (I used blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries)
- 1 cup packed spinach leaves
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 cup light unsweetened coconut milk
- 3/4 cup orange or apple juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend on high until completely smooth, about 1–2 minutes. If the consistency is too thick, add a little more coconut milk or juice to reach your desired texture. Pour into glasses and enjoy immediately for best flavor and nutrition.
