Fire up the grill—these Avocado Sprouts Cheeseburgers with Shallot Mayo are a backyard favorite. Juicy, well-seasoned patties meet creamy avocado, crisp sprouts, fresh veggies and a tangy shallot mayo to make a burger that’s bright, flavorful, and perfect for barbecues, picnics, or casual weeknight grilling.
The burgers are simple but satisfying: ground beef seasoned with garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper, grilled to your preferred doneness and topped with melted provolone. Pile on sliced avocado, broccoli sprouts (or your favorite sprouts), tomato, spinach and cilantro for a California-inspired twist. Finish with a smear of shallot mayo for extra depth and a soft bun to hold it all together.

These burgers came from a craving for fresh, crunchy toppings. Rather than piling on heavy condiments, the goal was to highlight vegetables—spinach, tomato, sprouts and avocado—while keeping the burger itself straightforward. The shallot mayo adds a subtle oniony sweetness that pairs beautifully with the creamy avocado and melted provolone.

While the patty seasoning is intentionally minimal—just garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper—you can easily customize the spice blend to suit your taste. The provolone keeps the cheese flavor light and melty, letting the freshness of the toppings shine.
Assemble the burger by starting with the bottom bun, adding a hot patty with melted cheese, then layering spinach, tomato, avocado slices, sprouts and cilantro. Spread shallot mayo on the top bun and close. Serve immediately so the cheese stays gooey and the vegetables stay crisp.
