There’s still plenty of summer left—time to fire up the grill and cook something delicious.
These Grilled Middle Eastern Turkey Kebabs with Cucumber Yogurt Dip are one of my favorite lighter grilling recipes. Inspired by kebabs I tasted on trips to the Middle East, this version uses lean turkey and bright, Mediterranean flavors to deliver a satisfying, low-calorie meal that’s perfect for Weight Watchers plans or any healthy-eating routine.
The turkey mixture is richly seasoned, and the cool cucumber-yogurt dip complements the grilled kebabs beautifully. Swap these for burgers or hot dogs next time you grill—your family and friends will love them.

Ingredients
Servings: 4 servings
- 1 lb extra lean ground turkey
- ¼ cup Kalamata olive juice
- ½ cup whole wheat Panko breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup reduced fat feta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- ¼ cup fresh parsley (minced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Cucumber Sauce:
- 1 cup plain, non-fat Greek yogurt
- ½ cup reduced fat feta cheese
- 1 small cucumber (shredded)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- Juice from ½ a lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Make the yogurt dip first: combine the Greek yogurt, ½ cup reduced-fat feta, shredded cucumber, 3 minced garlic cloves, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir until smooth and refrigerate while you prepare the kebabs.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, Kalamata olive juice, whole wheat Panko, ¼ cup reduced-fat feta, egg, 4 minced garlic cloves, oregano, paprika, minced parsley, and salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands until evenly combined.
- Cover the bowl and let the mixture rest about 30 minutes so the flavors meld.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high. Divide the mixture and form it around eight skewers.
- Place the kebabs on the grill and resist flipping or moving them until the bottom side releases easily—this prevents breaking. When the kebabs lift cleanly, flip gently with a spatula and cook until done to your liking.
- Remove kebabs from the grill and let rest for about 5 minutes. Serve with the cucumber-yogurt dip divided into small bowls.
Notes
- Recipe yields 4 servings.
- Each serving is approximately 2 kebabs with about 1/3 cup of yogurt dip.
