It’s January — a perfect time many of us resolve to eat better after the holiday indulgences. I’m Kristen Duke from Capturing Joy, where I share family recipes, DIY projects, and photography tips.
Today I’m excited to share a family favorite: Baked Parmesan Tilapia. This simple, reliable fish recipe is great for anyone who’s nervous about cooking seafood. It’s quick to prepare, flavorful, and usually a hit with picky eaters.

I used to be intimidated by cooking fish, unsure whether my family would actually eat it. Over time I discovered that simple preparations work best — and this baked Parmesan tilapia became my go-to. It helped me get comfortable cooking fish, and my kids were pleasantly surprised to enjoy it.
The method is straightforward: place fillets on a foil-lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle grated parmesan and basil seasoning, then bake. That’s it — just about 25 minutes from start to finish.
