Ingredients

  • 1 lbs ground chicken
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large Spanish onion finely diced
  • 1 medium carrot grated
  • 3 large garlic cloves smashed into a puree
  • 1 cup fresh tomatoes diced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp dry oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dry thyme

You will also need:

  • Large non-stick skillet
  • Bamboo spatula
  • Bamboo cutting board
  • Sharp knife

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
  • Add the diced onion and grated carrot; sauté until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the ground chicken and cook until it browns.
  • Stir in the smashed garlic and cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the oregano and thyme and cook for another minute.
  • Pour in the marinara sauce and diced tomatoes; simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes until slightly reduced.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir to combine.
  • Serve hot over your favorite pasta.
